Glossary

Each of Markev's 75 planets was different, with its own unique personal variations on the common theme and fabric of Markev culture. Some of the planets were resort worlds, and others were metropolitan centers.

Civilization was spread all over the planets rather than centralized on one or two planets, in order to make the society less vulnerable. Two planets functioned as Markev's headquarters. These planets were the most well protected with cruisers. However, communications networks were set up so that even if the headquarters planets were dismantled, the rest of the society could still function.

Around 190 billion people lived in the Markev Confederacy. All of these people were civilized and part of the same unified society. The Society was affluent enough that clothing and shelter were provided as a public service. Civilization was spread everywhere across the surfaces of most of the planets. Computer networks linked all the population centers and the architecture of the cities was magnificent. All of Markev's citizens were very aware, and everyone spoke the same language.

Weather conditions on the planets had been mastered. There was no unscheduled rain and there were no extremes of hot or cold temperature. There were also no bugs. storms, earthquakes, floods or sleet.

Markev society was truly a beautiful place to live. Not only were the surroundings spectacular, but in addition, no one had to work. People pursued their own interests on their own volition. These interests often helped to advance Markev's society or culture. But since the society was self-sustaining. work wasn't a requirement.

People had interests and projects of social, cultural or artistic value which they worked on whenever they felt like it. Robots ran everything and the society was so efficient anyway that survival-type work was unheard of and unnecessary.

The most noticeable difference between life in Markev and life on Earth was each individual person's level of awareness or state of beingness. Everyone in Markev was stably iout and very, very aware. There was no hostility. The expected way in which people generally treated each other on a social basis was love.

Wisdom, pleasure fun and spiritual advancement were the main purposes of Markev society. Travel was a favorite pastime, with 75 different worlds to choose from. People lived in magnificent, huge multi-unit dwellings. Each home was elegantly decorated with sumptuous colors and textiles, and fully equipped with a dazzling array of electronic conveniences. Men and women experienced romance and shared sexual relationships as they do on Earth today, only their bodies were androids. Hence, there were no children, families or old people. There were also no strangers, and everyone treated each other as friends.

An interplanetary computer network helped people with common interests to meet each other for cooperative efforts, whether it was for technological, cultural, or social pursuits. Displaying information on wall-sized screens in people's homes, the network served as an interplanetary directory and interstellar internet.
