6.2 THE MOVEMENT
The Pilgrims spent many decades secretly gathering their forces in England before they made their historic voyage and founded a new land. Likewise, a new underground culture has emerged in America to carry forward the new ideals of freedom of the mind.
This new subculture will grow in numbers, and its children and grandchildren will spearhead the colonization of Mars. Over time, their children will eventually become dominant in the new colonies, and found a new civilization.
The Founding Fathers and Mothers on Mars will unite their compatriots under a new banner. This time, their cause will not be freedom from monarchy, the Anglican church, or British domination. Instead, the cause will be freedom of the mind.
This much of future history is clear. The only thing that remains to be seen is whether Mars will be red or green.
